The StoneRed project (SR) is a wide-area curiosity retrieval initiative aiming to give universal access to one interesting document per day.

[FILM: The Battle of Midway, 1942]

Director John Ford was on Midway Island when Japanese aircraft attacked in June 1942, and filmed it in 16mm colour. He was wounded while filming. It won an Academy Award for best documentary.
